PLEASE READ THESE TERMS OF USE CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THIS WEBSITE. BY ACCESSING OR USING WWW.ALUMNIABROADFOUNDATION.ORG, YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE TERMS. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE, DO NOT USE THIS WEBSITE.
1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website located at www.alumniabroadfoundation.org (the "Site"), operated by the Alumni Abroad Foundation ("AAF," "we," "our," or "us"), a Delaware nonprofit corporation and 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization (EIN 41-3515112).
By accessing or using the Site, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are accessing the Site on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
2. NATURE OF AAF AND SCOPE OF SERVICES
AAF is a grant-making organization only. AAF awards financial grants to eligible undergraduate students to support international travel and facilitates optional peer connections through its Community Champion Program. AAF explicitly disclaims any role as a travel organizer, travel agency, tour operator, study abroad program provider, travel management company, or educational institution.
Nothing on this Site constitutes an offer to organize, supervise, arrange, or manage any travel experience. Students and grant recipients arrange their own travel independently, through their university's study abroad office, or through third-party study abroad program providers. AAF's operational involvement is limited to the disbursement of grant funds and the facilitation of optional introductions between grant recipients and Community Champions.
Community Champions are independent volunteers. They are not employees, agents, or representatives of AAF. AAF facilitates introductions only and does not direct, supervise, or assume responsibility for the conduct or outcome of Champion-student interactions.
3. INFORMATIONAL PURPOSE OF THIS SITE
The content on this Site is provided for general informational purposes only. Nothing on this Site constitutes:
• Legal, financial, tax, or professional advice of any kind;
• A guarantee of grant award, program outcomes, or travel results;
• A representation that any particular student will qualify for or receive a grant;
• A warranty regarding the accuracy, completeness, or currency of any information presented.
AAF makes reasonable efforts to keep Site content current and accurate but does not warrant that all information is free of errors or omissions. You should not rely solely on information from this Site when making decisions about international travel, financial planning, or academic programs.
4. GRANT PROGRAM — DISCLAIMER OF GUARANTEES
Information on this Site regarding the Global Experience Grant Program, including eligibility criteria, award amounts, disbursement schedules, and program timelines, is subject to change at AAF's sole discretion. Publication of program information on this Site does not constitute a binding offer or guarantee of award.
Grant awards are subject to the terms and conditions set forth in AAF's Grant Award Letter and Student Code of Conduct and Assumption of Risk, which govern the rights and obligations of grant recipients. In the event of any conflict between information on this Site and the terms of those documents, the executed documents control.
5. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, AAF, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, ADVISORS, AGENTS, SUCCESSORS, AND ASSIGNS (COLLECTIVELY, "AAF PARTIES") SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH: (A) YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THIS SITE; (B) ANY CONTENT ON THIS SITE OR LINKED THIRD-PARTY SITES; (C) ANY GRANT AWARD DECISION OR PROGRAM OUTCOME; (D) ANY INTERACTION BETWEEN A GRANT RECIPIENT AND A COMMUNITY CHAMPION; OR (E) ANY TRAVEL UNDERTAKEN BY A GRANT RECIPIENT, WHETHER OR NOT GRANT FUNDS WERE DISBURSED. THIS LIMITATION APPLIES REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY AND EVEN IF AAF HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
AAF does not organize, supervise, or control international travel undertaken by grant recipients. All travel is undertaken at the traveler's sole risk and responsibility. AAF expressly disclaims all liability for any injury, illness, death, property loss, financial loss, or any other harm arising from or related to a grant recipient's travel, regardless of whether AAF grant funds were used.
6. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
THIS SITE AND ALL CONTENT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ACCURACY.
